The Jeweller W.A. Sheaffer invented the Leverfiller. He founded the company in 1912 and started to sell his own pens. In 1924, it ws Sheaffer to launch the first "plastic" pens, made from celluloid. Another typical Sheaffer fillingsystem is the "Touchdown", sold in the 50ies. Today, Sheaffer is part of BIC.
